Several people have e-mailed and posted about Sarah appearing at SXSW this year so we wanted to give you a quick update.

Unfortunately Sarah will not be participating in SXSW this year because she will be traveling to Scotland to tape Transatlantic Sessions. Transatlantic Sessions, which is produced by Glasgow-based Pelicula Films Ltd, is a great musical program that will help introduce Sarah to the UK and Ireland via network television. Other artists participating are Jerry Douglas, Alison Krauss, Aly Bain, and Donal Lunny.

But Sarah will be back in Austin very soon. Tickets just went on sale for her shows at One World Theatre on Sunday, May 22nd. Sarah will be performing at 6:00pm and 8:30pm and you can purchase tickets at www.oneworldtheatre.org or find more information in the "Shows" section.

More shows and lots of information will be announced very soon.....so keep checking back!

NYC Residency and Communion Performances

Sarah will be playing a series of residency shows at NYC's Rockwood Music Hall starting January 29th. These shows will be an opportunity to hear her performing new material for the first time in a live setting. They will be stripped down, usually solo shows, with the possibility of a few special guests.

Sarah will also be performing at Communion NYC on January 30th. Communion was co-founded by Ben Lovett (Mumford & Sons) four years ago in the U.K. and earlier this year brought the idea to New York. This will be the second Communion and will take place at Public Assembly in Brooklyn. Check out the "Shows" section of the website for links, times, and ticket information.

"The New 45" available - ACL this Saturday

This Tuesday, Sarah released a two-song "45" that includes her original composition "My Muse" and her cover of Bill Withers' "Grandma's Hands". Titled "The New 45", the release is available digitally on iTunes and AmazonMP3. A very limited supply of vinyl 45s will be available for purchase through Sarah's store - you can place your order now for delivery during the week of November 22.

Also, the Austin City Limits episode featuring Sarah Jarosz will air nationwide this Saturday, November 6th. Taped earlier this year, the episode also features Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers. Click here to find when ACL airs in your area.

New Music From Sarah!

Sugar Hill and Sarah Jarosz are excited to announce the release of two brand new songs titled The New 45. The songs were recorded this past summer and combines the original composition "My Muse" (to be included on her upcoming Spring 2011 full-length release) plus the Bill Withers' chestnut "Grandma's Hands". Both tracks are previously unreleased, and this will be the only chance for fans to purchase the crowd pleaser "Grandma's Hands". The digital release date for The New 45 is November 2nd; limited vinyl pressings to be available at select outlets and on Sarah's website starting November 22nd.

And make sure you tune in to Sarah's Austin City Limits performance on Saturday, November 6th to see her perform "My Muse" as well as several favorites from Song Up In Her Head.

Sarah to perform at Americana Awards Show

Sarah has been added as a performer at the Americana Honors & Awards show. Other featured performers include Emmylou Harris, The Avett Brothers, Rodney Crowell, Wanda Jackson, Rosanne Cash, Patty Griffin, Sam Bush, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Ryan Bingham, Corb Lund, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Joe Pug, and Will Kimbrough.

The show will take place at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Thursday, September 9th. Tickets for the 9th Annual Americana Honors & Awards ceremony are ON SALE NOW and are available online via Ticketmaster, Ryman.com, the Americana Music Online Store, as well as in-person at the Ryman box office.

Sarah Nominated for 2010 Americana Music Award

This morning in Nashville, the Americana Music Association announced their nominees for the 2010 Americana Music Awards. Sarah was named one of five nominees for New/Emerging Artist of the Year! Others nominated in the category are Ryan Bingham, Hayes Carll, Corb Lund, and Joe Pug.

The Americana Music Awards Show will be held September 9th at the Ryman Auditorium.

Sarah records Austin City Limits episode for late October airing

Sarah wins 3 Austin Music Awards

Sarah has been named Best Female Vocalist, Best Country/Bluegrass Artist, and Best Folk Act by the Austin Music Awards! The award winners were announced by the Austin Chronicle on Wednesday March 17th. Sarah also placed highly in the Musician of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Miscellaneous Instrumentalist categories.

LoneStarMusic Magazine has announced the nominees for the 2010 LoneStarMusic Awards, and Sarah has earned two nominations! She's up for Best Vocal Performance - Female and Best Emerging Artist.

These awards are decided by public vote -- to do so, you've got to either pick up a copy of the Jan/Feb 2010 print edition of LoneStarMusic Magazine (presumably only available in Texas), or you can sign up to receive a ballot via email by subscribing to their newsletter. SIGN UP HERE.

Sarah Nominated for Grammy Award!

Sarah is extremely excited and honored to have been nominated for a Grammy© Award for the first time. Her original composition "Mansinneedof", off Song Up In Her Head, has been chosen as one of four nominees for Best Country Instrumental Performance!

The song features Sarah on mandolin, Mike Marshall on second mandolin, Alex Hargreaves on fiddle, and Paul Kowert on bass.

"Song Up In Her Head" CD Release and Summer Tour!

Hello everybody! I hope everyone's having a great summer! This is my first official journal entry on my new website! I wanted to update you all on what I've been up to lately.

The month of June was packed with lots of fun shows and the official release of my debut CD "Song Up In Her Head" on June 16, 2009. I started out the month in Colorado at the Pagosa Springs Folk 'n Bluegrass Festival. It was such a great way to kick off the summer. I was joined by Samson Grisman and Alex Hargreaves during my set at the festival and for the rest of my shows in June. Many friends were in Pagosa including The Infamous Stringdusters, The Boston Boys, and The Belleville Outfit.

From there, I returned home to Texas for two amazing CD Release shows. The first was at the Cactus Cafe in Austin. It was a sold out show! Thanks to everyone who came out. It was truly a magical night. Thanks so much to Griff Luneberg. The next show was the following night at the gorgeous Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Wimberley, Texas. Thanks to Billy and Dodee Crockett for opening up their incredible home for such a fun show... there was even a thunderstorm towards the end of our set that knocked out the electricity for a second, but the lights came back on just as we played our last note!

I then traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, were I had my official CD Release show at the legendary Station Inn. I had up some special guests during that show including Darrell Scott, Abigail Washburn, and Casey Driessen. It was such a blast and an honor to get to perform on that historic stage.

From there it was off to Telluride, Colorado, for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. I hitched a ride from the Montrose airport to the festival with the Steeldrivers. It was great getting to meet them for the first time! Their car dropped me off in Mountain Village and I rode the Gondola into town. The beauty of that place never ceases to amaze me. I made sure to get in as many gondola rides as possible throughout the weekend.

From there I met up with Gary Paczosa, Tim O'Brien, Luke Reynolds, and The Greencards for lunch at a little Mexican restaurant on Main Street. The weekend was off to an amazing start. That night, Crooked Still invited me and many guests up during their rockin' set at Fly Me To The Moon Saloon. What a fun night! That brings us to Sunday. I was honored this year to have a duo set on the Elks Park workshop stage with Abigail Washburn. It it always such a treat to get to sing and play with Abby. That night, the Punch Brothers' first set at the Sheridan Opera house was exclusively Radiohead songs. They invited me up to sing "The Tourist" which is the last song on the album "OK Computer." Those Punch Bros. are incredible, and it was so much fun to get to sing with them. They had many amazing guests throughout the night including Bela Fleck, Sara and Sean Watkins, Bryan Sutton, Aoife O'Donovan, and Julian Lage. For the encore, The Punch Bros. jumped off the stage and into the crowd. Chris called me back to sing "Where The Soul of Man Never Dies" with him. This is the third year in a row he's invited me to end the show with that song, and Chris said it should become a tradition. It was also a special treat to get to meet Ed Helms from The Office and The Hangover. I've been a huge fan of The Office for a long time, so I was so stoked to meet him! Backstage after the show there was an epic arm wrestling match and jam that I'm sure will go down in the Telluride history books. It was an amazing weekend that I'll never forget!

I then returned back home to Texas and drove up to Dallas to open for the Greencards at Poor David's Pub. My grandpa and a bunch of my relatives came out for that show! On the drive back to Wimberley that night, Kym told my parents and I that we had to take exit 353 and check out the "Czech Stop" and told us we wouldn't regret it. At about 3:00 a.m. we finally arrived at this tiny little gas station, and lo and behold I had one of the best reuben sandwiches of my life, along with kolaches and several other assorted baked goods that blew my mind. Definitely something to check out if you ever find yourself on I-35 between Dallas and Austin. It's open 24 hours! The next day I opened another show for the Greencards at Threadgill's in Austin. It was a thrill to get to open for them!

Last week I gave a free in-store performance at Waterloo Records in Austin. A big thank you goes out to John Kunz and also everyone who came to the show!

Now I'm getting ready to hit the road again! I'm traveling up to Oak Hill, New York to play at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival! After that, I fly to Colorado where I'm playing my first main stage set at RockyGrass. I've been attending the RockyGrass Academy and Festival for the past seven years. It's really where it all began for me outside of Texas and it always feels like a big family reunion because I've made so many friends there over the years. So now to have my own set at the festival is such a dream come true. I can't wait!
